The ultimate restoration, for whatever purpose, is what is known as a frame off. This entails removing every nut, bolt, wire, trim piece, etc, until you have nothing but boxes of individual bits and pieces that when put back together will be a vehicle again. This is the most comprehensive and costly form of restoration, but if you either plan on winning at Pebble Beach or having an heirloom to pass on through the family this is the only way to go. When you are finished you will have a vehicle that is better than the day it left the showroom floor.
