Most cars have exactly enough radiator to do just enough to keep the car cool. So normally in everyday situations cooling is only an issue when something fails. There are some notable exceptions to this though, Jaguar XK's and E types, MGA Twin Cam, Daimler SP250, to name a few. Also, when we increase the power output of the engine or begin to use the car in ways that the builders did not expect, vintage racing or rallies, or just long drives of plus 50 mph in a car built in the 1930's, we may find that our cooling systems will not handle the demands we put on them.
It is a fine line between to much heat and not enough. The object is to keep as much heat as we can in the engine (heat is energy and the more we shed into the cooling system the less we have to ultimately get to our wheels) yet still maintain the correct combustion temperatures to give us the most precise and complete burn.
Cloverleaf specializes in building high performance radiators. Using a special "R" core we can vastly improve the cooling capacities of your car and still maintain a very "correct" appearance.
Cloverleaf can also restore your radiator to original for those doing the concours circuit. We can match most styles and patterns and have worked with German silver. For a list of some of the radiators we have done please click on this link Radiators
We also rebuild water pumps and can rebuild most pumps not easily obtained in your local parts store.
